Stream Iceage's New Album, Out October 7th On Matador!

Excitement has been rapidly building leading into the release of Plowing Into The Field Of Love, the bold and forceful third album by Copenhagen's Iceage. After sharing four distinct songs (three of which were named "Best New Track" by Pitchfork, all of which were lauded by The FADER and many other respected outlets) off a record stacked with standouts, the band is offering a stream of the entire album for anyone to embed. This is an album about seeing, learning, and rejecting things, in a cycle that repeats and builds. The reference points are wildly varied, but the sound is uniquely and darkly Iceage. It is the anthemic sound of a band in motion, unafraid of change, filled with curiosity, musicality and ambition. Throughout, the four members channel the rage and emotion of their tempestuous early releases into finely honed musicianship -- piano, mandolin, viola and organ are featured atop Johan Suurballe-Wieth's razor-sharp guitars, and the lolloping, synchronized rhythm section of Jacob Tvilling Pless and Dan Kjær Nielsen. The record has a clear, uncompressed sound, and Elias Bender Rønnenfelt's desperate vocals are out front, nakedly accountable for the words as he sings of what it is like to be out in the world, dizzy with its offerings, perched on a plateau of false confidence, bliss, fantasy and delirious self-denial.

The day is almost upon us when Tomorrows Tulips release their new album, WHEN, out 10/7 on Burger Records. It's a shambolic and loving affair, a record that feels as raw as the stories and emotions expressed within. Here's your chance to listen before you buy it, because The FADER has the goods. WHEN showcases the group's evolution through a blend of pop sensibilities with post punk, noise rock and DIY recording techniques - endeavors that demonstrate the band's interest in experimentation and impromptu deconstruction. Chumped Announce Debut LP "Teenage Retirement", Noisey Streams New Track "Songs About Boats", Fall Tour Dates Announced

Brooklyn's Chumped has been winning the hearts this fall with the release of their latest EP That's The Thing Is Like... earlier this month.  But today Noisey brought the excitement surrounding the band to a whole new level when they premiered a new track "Songs About Boats" from Chumped's upcoming debut LP Teenage Retirement, out November 18 via Anchorless Records.  The site praised the upcoming record, saying "The band’s carefree-but-dedicated work ethic bleeds through on this record. It maintains everything that makes Chumped great—a commitment to perfectly crafted catchy songwriting".

The self-described "bummer punk" quartet formed in Brooklyn in 2012 and began making a name for themselves in the Brooklyn DIY scene, combining 90s indie with pop punk to create songs that are energetic, reflective and just a bit gritty and sloppy in all the most endearing ways.  Their self-titled 2013 debut EP caught the attention of places such asNoiseyAV ClubAlternative Press and BrooklynVegan who were early to champion the young band and helped contribute to an ever-growing momentum and a busy 2014.  Chumped has announced new tour fall tour dates today, and will also appear at Fest 13 (all tour dates below).

SECRET CUTTER Confirms European Release Of Debut LP Via Holy Roar Records & Tape Version Through Grimoire Cassette Cvlture; Band Added To CBGB Festival In NYC

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania trio, SECRET CUTTER, has confirmed a new European distribution deal and a limited cassette edition of their debut LP, Self Titled.

Spewing forth a wretched, caustic amalgamation of sludge, hardcore and grind elements, SECRET CUTTER jumped from a local band to gaining international praise seemingly overnight following the release of Self Titled, with incredible reactions from media outlets appearing everywhere this Summer. Comprised of drummer Jared Stimpfl, vocalist Ekim and guitarist Evan Morey, their output blends elements seemingly influenced as much by Deadguy and Converge as Eyehategod and Godflesh, delivered through a backline massive enough to power a band twice their size, delivering a live show as intense as their recorded material. With over twenty-six minutes of pure slaughterhouse material, produced by the band at Stimpfl's Captured Recording Studios, SECRET CUTTER's forceful songwriting, and eclectic, brutal musical dementia comes alive through a maelstrom of ten vigorous tracks on Self Titled.

The critical acclaim of Self Titled has spread around the globe like a contagion, now infecting several labels who will issue new versions of the record, following their self-release of the album on LP and digital download through their own Bethlehem Rust label earlier this year. SECRET CUTTER has hooked up with London-based Holy Roar Records (Enabler, OHHMS, Strife, Coliseum) for European distribution of Self Titled. In addition, a cassette version of the record will be available through San Diego-based Grimoire Cassette Cvlture (Indian, Fister, Goryl), in a limited run of 150 copies. All versions of Self Titled include a free digital download of the full album as well. Self Titled can be purchased on black vinyl in Europe via Holy Roar HERE, on cassette from Grimoire Cassette Cvlture HERE, and stateside on three different colors of vinyl as well as digital through the band HERE.

Also check out a recent gear feature on SECRET CUTTER's sole axeman Evan Morey's massive setup which helps deliver the band's unique auditory brutality via PureGrainAudio HERE.

Following several shows in support of Self Titled this Summer, including a devastating set at the first annual Uninvited Fest in Brooklyn last week, SECRET CUTTER continues to book new gigs, including having just been confirmed to take part in NYC's CBGB's Festival. The band will raid Saint Vitus Bar on October 11th, providing support for Primitive Weapons and Vision Of Disorder. Further live actions will be announced throughout the coming weeks and the rest of 2014 as Secret Cutter continues to write new material for their next release.

SECRET CUTTER Live:
10/11/2014 Saint Vitus Bar - Brooklyn, NY w/ Vision If Disorder, Primitive Weapons [info]

"Secret Cutter appeal to a lot of different appetites-sludge heads looking for something a little more complicated than rote Eyehategod worship, old hardcore dudes wanting to go heavier but avoid sounding like Nails, and most of all, those committed to the mosh. They would be foolish not to tour with Xibalba or Harms Way." - Pitchfork

"... the band Billy Anderson would listen to if he was having the worst day of his life... Self Titled defies categorization by acting as a round-up of heavy albums' heavy parts. Sludgy, thrashy, grindy; doesn't matter. As long as it's bruising, it'll make the cut." - Invisible Oranges

"Take the anarcho-hardcore of bands like Deadguy, Kiss It Goodbye, Coalesce, and Converge and then meld it together using molten lava and brimstone with the sludge filled bile of bands like Eyehategod and Buzzov-en, and you'd have a close approximation of just how nasty this record is." - Metal Insider

"A three piece shouldn't sound this heavy, but Allentown, Pennsylvania's Secret Cutter manages to pull off the impossible..." - About.com

"No nonsense crushing music, vocals that are delivered with raw animal power, with a mix and master that compliment the music." 9/10" - This Is Not A Scene

Today, FADER Magazine premieres Cathedrals' "Unbound" video which a collaboration between the band, Maria Kochetkova who is the principal ballerina in the San Francisco ballet and The Sugar Cubes light sculpture (see piece on Discovery Channel). "Unbound" was directed by Sam Pressman and the cinematographer Isaac Bauman (John Legend, Sam Smith, Drake, The Presets and Blood Orange).

“The intimacy of the lovers is the ground, the base emotion of the song – the light cubes are the rhythm, continuous in every shot of the video they remind that everyone herein is coexisting even if we so often feel separate – Maria is the spirit, up and down, dancing our worlds together – and Cathedrals are our storytellers mirroring the struggle of the lovers to find each other. " - director Sam Pressman in FADER

Next month, the San Francisco duo will play their first ever East Coast show at Neon Gold's New Shapes CMJ showcase on October 23rd. Don't miss the band live, please information HERE

Cathedrals, the San Francisco duo comprised of Brodie Jenkins and Johnny Hwin released their self-titled debut EP on Neon Gold Records earlier this month. The self-titled EP is available on transparent black grape 10" vinyl including an MP3 download, order smarturl.it/CathedralsEP .

Last month, Interview Magazine premiered the fourth EP single "OOO AAA" HERE, with an interview that dives into the band's background as a pillar of the San Francisco artist community via Johnny's warehouse gallery, The SUB.

Cathedrals previously revealed "Harlem" HERE and "Unbound" HERE via their soundcloud, and both songs shot to the #1 position on the Hype Machine chart in no time.

"Want My Love" marked Cathedrals' first single with esteemed New York pop impresarios Neon Gold Records. Looking set to follow in the illustrious footsteps Neon Gold acts before them (Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Gotye, et. al), Cathedrals fit beautifully amongst the backdrop of the label's more recent output (HAIM, Wet) and label founder Lizzy Plapinger's own rising outfit, MS MR.

Recent praise for Cathedrals:
"...an enigmatic, R&B-infused gem that features Jenkins and Hwin's haunting vocals. The dichotomy of dark and light within the music makes for a catching, gorgeous track. - Interview Magazine

"...post-Aaliyah mood-making, pulsating bass, gorgeous harmonies, and XX-like guitar-play." - SPIN Magazine

"...transitioning from psychedelic, distorted riffs to angelic whispers with ease." - Indie Shuffle
